What applies for 2026

One of the most meaningful opportunities to upgrade your home, ever.

The Scheme aims at the extensive energy upgrade of existing homes by individuals. It is not just a subsidy — it is a holistic investment that lowers electricity bills, increases property value and noticeably improves daily life at home.

Eligible investments include thermal insulation of the building shell, window replacement, shading systems, solar water heating systems, heat pumps, photovoltaic net-billing systems, energy storage batteries, and qualified expert services.

Eligible investments

What the Scheme covers

The investment categories below are eligible for subsidy, provided their combination achieves a primary energy saving of at least 60%.

Pipakis Specialty

Window replacement

New energy-efficient aluminium windows with thermal break and low-E glazing. Drastic reduction in heat losses and improved sound insulation.

Pipakis Specialty

Shading systems

External shutters, louvers, pergolas and fixed aluminium shading systems. They reduce summer heat load and boost air-conditioning efficiency.

Shell thermal insulation

External wall and roof insulation that markedly reduces winter heat losses and summer thermal load.

Solar water heating

A new high-efficiency solar water heater for an immediate reduction in electricity used for domestic hot water.

Heat pumps

High-efficiency heating and cooling systems that replace older, energy-intensive heating solutions.

Photovoltaics (net-billing)

Installation of a photovoltaic system operating under net-billing, for self-generation and reduced EAC bills.

Energy storage (batteries)

Energy storage batteries that maximise self-consumption from your photovoltaic system.

Expert services

Costs for the issuance of Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) and other services by qualified experts.

Why Pipakis Aluminium

Aluminium windows & shading systems that count in your final EPC.

Among the most efficient interventions in the Scheme are the works we know best: replacing old windows with high-efficiency aluminium systems, and installing external shading systems. They markedly reduce heat losses, improve sound insulation, and raise the home's energy rating — weighing substantially in the 60% calculation.

  • Aluminium systems with thermal break & energy-efficient glazing

The process

Five steps, in a clear sequence

When the order is followed properly, your application progresses without surprises and every investment counts towards the final calculation.

How to get started with the 2026 Scheme — five simple steps
  1. 1

    Issuance of the initial EPC

A Qualified Expert issues the initial Energy Performance Certificate after 15/05/2026.

  2. 2

    Selection of investments

Define the package of interventions (windows, shading, insulation, heat pump, PV, etc.) that achieves a saving of ≥ 60%.

  3. 3

    Application submission

The call for proposals is announced within September by the Ministry of Energy, Commerce & Industry.

  4. 4

    Implementation of works

All eligible investments are carried out after the issuance of the initial EPC, retaining invoices and photographic documentation.

  5. 5

    Final EPC & disbursement

Issuance of the final EPC and verification of savings for the subsidy to be granted.

Note: Implementing eligible expenses before the publication of the detailed Implementation Guide is possible; however, it is done at the sole responsibility of the interested party and does not bind the Ministry's final decision. Retain all supporting documents (invoices, photographs).
